Building Maintenance Technician - Permanent Full-time

Equipment Maintenance Facility


The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to maintain and repair MPG facilities (buildings);
  • Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets, dispensers and clearing obstructions from drains; repair drywall; paint; change lights bulbs and ballasts, etc.;
  • Maintain appropriate levels of supplies and materials in support of facilities maintenance and repair;
  • Make recommendations regarding whether the job can be completed in-house or an outside contractor is required;
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • Travel between locations within the GTA using company vehicle.

Days and Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week);
  • Overtime may be required to meet deadlines or in emergency situations.



  • Technical knowledge and experience with carpentry, dry walling, minor plumbing or electrical, painting and associated general building maintenance;
  • Knowledge of, and practical and safe experience with various pieces of equipment, e.g. power saws, power sanders, air compressors, paint sprayers, sewer augers, various hand tools for carpentry, plumbing, etc.;
  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word;
  • Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License required;
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work courteously and effectively in a team environment;
  • Good knowledge of English grammar including written and oral skills.
