Board


Our Board of Directors

As with other not-for-profit organizations, our board of directors is legally responsible for the integrity and development of its activities. The board acts in the public interest to ensure that charter and regulatory requirements are met. The board is made up of public-spirited individuals (many of them long-serving) who, in addition to their work and family commitments, want to be of service to their community. Our board members represent a variety of professions and occupations.

Thomas DiGiacomo, Chair

Tom Di Giacomo is the former President and CEO of Manulife Financial and now presides over Tadico Limited, a financial consulting firm. He presently sits on the board of 4 companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange: Menu Foods Income Trust, Kingsway Financial, Xceed Mortgage Corp, RDM Corporation. He is a former director of Cinram International Income Fund, First Marathon, First Ontario Labour Sponsored Fund. He has served on the board of the Toronto General Hospital and as Chairman of Kids Help Phone. He is currently on the board of University of St Michael’s College.

Wendy Cecil

Wendy Cecil is President of Brookmoor Enterprises Ltd., Vice-Chair of St Michaels Hospital, Chair of Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute Advisory Board, Honorary Governor of the Olympic Trust of Canada and director of The Canadian Stage, the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation. She is past Chair of the University of Toronto, Branksome Hall School, Royal Ontario Museum, Canadian Opera Company, YMCA Toronto Central and the Canadian Women’s Breast Cancer Foundation. She is an Associate Senior Fellow at Massey College and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Toronto.

Marilyn Field-Marsham

Marilyn Field Marsham is a retired Partner of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and former adjudicator for the Ontario Ministry of Health (Consent & Capacity Board). Her litigation practice covered a wide variety of business issues in complex commercial cases and included acting as Counsel to the Commissioner, the Honourable Peter Cory, on the Government of Manitoba Inquiry in a wrongful conviction matter. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.  Her governance experience includes serving as a director of Aim Canada Fund Inc., Aim Global Fund Inc., and AIM Trimark Funds Advisory Board, Canada Blooms Horticultural Society and the Golf Association of Ontario. Through the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO), she is involved in aboriginal governance projects.

Glenn McClary, Secretary of the Corporation

Glenn McClary is President of the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries which owns and operates 10 cemeteries in the Greater Toronto Area.  He started with Mount Pleasant Group as its Director of Sales in 2001, was promoted to Vice-President of Sales & Marketing in 2003 and assumed the role of President of the cemetery operation in January, 2010. Prior to joining the Mount Pleasant Group, Glenn spent the majority of his career with two major consumer packaged goods companies, Kraft General Foods and Kimberly Clark. Glenn began his career in Vancouver B.C. with subsequent roles taking him to Calgary, Alberta, Halifax, Nova Scotia and finally settling in the Toronto area.
