Can I arrange my cremation directly with you?
Yes. Any of our ten cemeteries will be pleased to help you arrange a cremation at any one of our crematoriums throughout the GTA.

Can I pre-pay my cemetery/cremation arrangements?
Yes. Staff at any one of our ten cemeteries will be happy to help you make the arrangements best suited to your needs, and to discuss your pre-payment options.

Can I pre-pay my funeral with you?
Ontario law requires that cemeteries and funeral homes operate separately from one another. You can pre-pay your cemetery and cremation services with any one of our ten cemeteries, and a Service Co-ordinator will be pleased to help you with information on funeral homes in your local area, where you can pre-pay your funeral services. The Service Co-ordinator can also provide you with a contact at The Simple Alternative (TSA), a sister company of Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. TSA has funeral centres located at 275 Lesmill Road in Toronto, 1535 South Gateway Road in Mississauga, and 1057 Brock Road in Pickering.

Why should I pre-pay when my insurance will take care of the cost?
Pre-payment ensures your specific wishes are carried out at the time of death.

What happens if I pre-purchase at a cemetery, but change my mind or move away from the area?
In accordance with provincial law, money received for pre-planned cemetery services such as a burial is deposited in a trust fund. If you change your mind within the first 30 days, you will receive a full refund. After 30 days, you can still cancel as long as the supplies or services contracted for haven't been provided, but an administrative fee is charged — again, as allowed by law. With respect to the purchase of interment rights (grave, lot, urn space, crypt or niche), if you should change your mind for any reason within 60 days of purchase and before the interment rights are used, Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries will refund 100% of what you paid. After 60 days, you may still cancel as long as your interment rights haven't been used and we will refund what you paid, less the portion contributed to the Care and Maintenance Fund, in accordance with the law.

Can you recommend a funeral home?
You should know that The Simple Alternative is a full-service funeral home with three locations (275 Lesmill Road in Toronto, 1535 South Gateway Road in Mississauga, and 1057 Brock Road in Pickering), and a sister company to Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. A Service Co-ordinator at any one of our ten cemeteries will also be happy to help you with information on other funeral homes in your area.
