Three Steps to
pre-planning a Funeral

Pre-planning a funeral is not as complicated as it might seem...

Step One

  • Choosing a meaningful service: this could be a simple funeral service or a more elaborate, traditional service. It may be a private, family occasion or open to all.
  • Visitation and viewing: Visitation is usually done over one or two days, with the casket present, either open or closed. If you wish, a private family viewing can be arranged for one hour prior to the funeral service, which can be held at one of our chapels or your place of worship.
  • Memorial service: A memorial service, without the body present, may be held instead of a funeral service. If you choose, and urn containing cremated remains may be present. This service can be held at one of our chapels, or the location of your choice.

Step Two

  • Selecting a casket/container: A wide variety of materials are available, from natural pine to handcrafted oak, cherry or mahogany. If you prefer, rental caskets are also available. Caskets can be personalized to reflect hobbies or religious beliefs.
  • Choosing an urn: Urns hold cremated remains, and come in many shapes, sizes and materials such as bronze and marble. They also come in single or double capacity, and traditional or contemporary designs. Some urns can be personalized with inscriptions, and many are made to reflect favourite hobbies.

Step Three

  • Selecting a memorial: A memorial will forever pay tribute to a life lived, providing a record for future generations. As unique as the memory it honours, a memorial can be anything of special meaning to you, such as a specially designed, carved monument bearing a personal inscription, an engraved urn inside a glass-fronted niche or a personalized inscription of a marble crypt or niche front.
