What are my choices in ground burial? Most common are single graves, and lots composed of two or more graves. Not all interment rights are available at all cemeteries. Please check with the cemetery office of your choice for availability of specific interment rights. | Single Grave In most cases, a single grave can accommodate two casket burials, one at extra depth and the other at standard depth. The most common form of memorial is a granite or bronze marker set flush with the ground. However, upright memorials are available in some areas. Check with the cemetery office for availability. | Lot A lot contains more than one grave. In general, each grave within a lot can accommodate two casket burials. In most areas, an upright monument is permitted on the lot. Its size is governed by the size of the lot. | Urn Space Urn spaces are available for those who have chosen cremation, but still prefer the traditional burial of cremated remains. Urn spaces will accommodate up to two urns containing cremated remains. The most common form of memorial is a granite or bronze marker set flush with the ground. However, upright memorials are available in some areas. In many areas, urn spaces have been designed around a central sculpture or garden feature. | Veterans’ Section All Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries, with the exception of the Toronto Necropolis and Mount Pleasant Cemetery, have a section dedicated to Canadian and Allied veterans. The cost of interment rights is reduced in these sections. A common memorial feature is dedicated to all veterans. |
