Advanced search tips

You can narrow your search results using the following tips.

Word and Phrase Searches

  • Try using quotation marks (") at the beginning and end of the phrase e.g. "Casket Vaults" - this will return only pages or documnets with that phrase.
  • Refine the search further using operators such as "AND", "OR", and "AND NOT" in the search field e.g. "Casket Vaults" AND Bronze - in this example only those pages which contain the phrase Casket Vaults and the word Bronze will be returned.

Using Boolean Operators

Boolean Operators must be in capitals.

ANDFinds documents containing all of the specified words or phrases.

ORReturns documents containing at least one of the specified words or phrases.

 AND NOT

Excludes documents containing the word or phrase following AND NOT.

Proximity Search

NEARSearching with NEAR returns results ranked in order of how close to each other the words are in the document.

Searching within Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Documents

Larger documents in our website are often Adobe Acrobat files.

You can search within a PDF document by opening it and using the search function from the toolbar. Look for the binocular icon, select it and enter your words or phrase in the search box.

The results list will show the page number for each of the hits, and the words or phrase will be highlighted within the document.
