Property Service Employee - Temporary Part-time (6 months)

Location: Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough

 

The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

  • Operate backhoes, trucks and other equipment;

  • Participate in regular cemetery operations including interments and entombments.

 

Days and Hours of Work:

  • As per Collective Agreement;

  • Friday, Saturday and Monday;

  • 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in cemetery operations;

  • Gardening, landscape, and/or construction work would be considered an asset;

  • You will possess a valid Ontario “G” driver’s license;

  • Backhoe experience required.

The deadline for internal applications is Thursday, May 26, 2022.


 

Family Service Clerk - Contract Full-time (12 months)

Location: All

 

The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

  • Successful candidate must be able to travel to all 10 Cemetery locations as needed;

  • Check interments/entombments daily; take photographs and rubbings of memorials;

  • Finalising Interment Arrangements, ensuring all documents are received, processed and finalised;

  • Process memorial orders; create documents, receipts, invoices, foundation and setting orders , including dealer approvals;

  • Register interment rights and records documents;

  • Create and process purchase orders;

  • Scan and index cemetery documents as required;

  • Reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits and various reports when required;

  • Attend graveside interments of cremated remains when required;

  • Maintain various reporting functions including survey letters;

  • Relieve receptionist as required;

  • Perform other sundry duties as assigned.

 

Days and Hours of Work:

  • 5 days a week, including every Monday, Friday, and Saturday;

  • Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday off (based on location requirements);

  • 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.p. (based on location requirements).

 

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to detail and accuracy;

  • A valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract;

  • The successful applicant must obtain a Sales Representative Licence upon hire;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team player;

  • Ability to multi-task in a busy office environment;

  • Experience working with MS Office as well as standard office equipment.

Service Co-ordinator - Contract part-time (12 months)

Location: Beechwood Cemetery, Vaughan

 

The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

  • Assist individuals/families in the selection of interment rights, memorials, inscriptions, cremation and all ancillary services;

  • Process documents relating to memorialization and interments for customers  such as interment Rights Certificates, arrangement forms, transfer and exchange documents, grave/cremation/removal orders, memorial/inscription/ceramic photo orders, endowments, receipts, invoices, time-payment contracts, accounts receivable, bank deposits, service request, etc;

  • Contribute to property maintenance by watching for problem areas when on the grounds and informing the Property Management Team;

  • Organise and attend graveside/cremation, interment or entombment services as required;

  • Follow up with customers and employees on arrangements and memorializations;

  • Perform any related sundry activities as assigned.

 

Days and Hours of Work:

  • Monday, Friday & Saturday;

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.;

  • Additional days based on business needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to exceeding customer service expectations;

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organisation skills;

  • Keen eye for detail and ability to multi-task;

  • Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office;

  • A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence and a clean Driver’s Abstract;

  • Working knowledge of the death care industry would be considered an asset.

    Mausoleum Custodian - Permanent Part-time

    Location: Prospect Cemetery, Toronto

     

    The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

    • Removal of garbage, ice and snow from mausoleum and entrance to mausoleum (including walkways);

    • Cleaning and maintaining the entire mausoleum regularly, e.g. dusting, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, cleaning skylights, removing cobwebs, etc.;

    • Regular inspections of emergency exit doors, lights, stairways and railings for damage, elevator, washrooms (flushing systems, cracks), furniture, etc.;

    • Answering general questions from the public;

    • Checking for and reporting any structural damage to the mausoleum building;

    • Preparing the daily/weekly cleaning schedule;

    • Any other sundry duties as may be assigned, in accordance with the collective agreement.

     

    Days and Hours of Work:

    • As per Collective Agreement;

    • Wednesday, Friday and Saturday;

    • 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.;

    • Additional days as required.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Experience and/or working knowledge of general maintenance functions;

    • Custodian experience;

    • Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills;

    • Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and WHMIS;

    • Experience in Stripping/Waxing and Sealing/Finishing of tile floors and High Speed buffing;

    • A basic knowledge of the operations of the cemetery, coupled with some general product and service knowledge;

    • Knowledge of the Cemetery By-laws

      .

      The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

            Location: Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton

             

            The Successful Candidate Will be Required to:

            • Process memorial orders; create documents, receipts, invoices, foundation and setting orders etc;

            • Create and process Purchase Orders;

            • Reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits and various reports when required;

            • Order and receive office supplies when required;

            • Maintain stock of collateral material as required;

            • Scan and index cemetery documents as required;

            • Ensuring all documents and arrangements are received and finalised;

            • Register interment rights and records documents;

            • Relieve Receptionist as required;

            • Maintain existing reports supporting the team;

            • Perform other sundry duties as assigned.

             

            Days and Hours of Work:

            • Tuesday to Saturday;

            • 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

               

              Qualifications:

              • Commitment to detail and accuracy;

              • A valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract;
