Raphael “Ralph” Passey

Section M, Chapel Niche 386
Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton

Raphael “Ralph” Passey lived to make music. Before moving to Canada with his wife and daughter in 1971, the Trinidad native and his brother, Steve Regis, visited Canada as musical representatives of Trinidad at Expo 67 in Montreal. More recently, Passey had played in steel bands at Toronto’s Caribana Festival. On the night he died, he was returning home from a private function where he had been performing. He was an innocent victim of an apparent drag race. The 47-year-old Passey was employed as warehouse supervisor for Lamson and Sessions of Canada Ltd., manufacturer and distributor of lock nuts for the automotive industry. Ralph Passey died on September 22, 1991.
