Little is known about this man except as described in his obituary: he resided on Logan Avenue and was a "sometime butcher in the St. Lawrence Market." The same obituary also states that his burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A street that runs between Logan and Broadview Avenues is named in his honour. Sparkhall's death occurred on December 29, 1886.
