Charles Orange Lawrence

Plot 15, Section 7, Lot 24
Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto

With the middle name “Orange” it’s no surprise that in Lawrence’s obituary he’s described as being a long-time and faithful member of Loyal Orange Lodge 104. The power and influence of the Protestant Loyal Orange Association of British America has diminished greatly in recent years. Toronto’s annual Orange Day Parade that drew thousands of participants in the early years of (the last) century has dwindled to a hundred or so marchers. Lawrence died on April 10, 1945.
