William Henderson was born in Wick, Caithness, Scotland on June 20, 1892 and emigrated to Canada in early 1914. Henderson enlisted in Toronto, Ontario in August, 1915 with the 48^th Highlanders and eventually served with the 24^th Battalion Queen Victoria Rifles in France, with whom he was awarded the Military Medal in August, 1918. He died on December 25, 1964.
