Prospect Cemetery
The 1920s saw a resurgence of activity in fraternal organisations, no doubt due, in part, to the dehumanising effects of World War I, and the desire for communal association. The Woodmen of the World is one such group, which has several monuments in Prospect and other cemeteries. A local branch of the order met in a frame hall on Ascot Avenue. Sovereign Edward Jno. Connolly of Excelsior Camp #173 in Toronto Junction, died from pulmonary tuberculosis on December 18, 1902 as the age of 22. He was buried in Prospect Cemetery on December 20th.
