Performance Evaluation
The board of directors evaluates the performance of the board and its committees and chairs every two years. Based on these evaluations, the board determines what, if any, action could improve the board and its committees performance. For individual directors, peer feedback is consolidated and the chair conducts one-on-one conversations with each director regarding his or her performance.
Compensation
The board determines the remuneration paid to the chair, the chairs of the committees and the directors. Directors who are employees of the corporation do not receive any remuneration for acting as a director. Reasonable expenses incurred while performing the role of director may be reimbursed.
A board member earns between $30,000 and $35,000 a year, depending on the committees they serve on and the number of meetings they attend.
