Cemetery By-laws

Mount Pleasant Group cemeteries are welcoming and safe sanctuaries for all.

To maintain their serenity and dignity, we have by-laws that all visitors must follow. Updated May 1, 2024, these by-laws include rules for burial and visitation hours, jogging, recreational activities, dog-walking and permitted items at grave sites.

We ask all visitors to respect these by-laws to ensure the safety of our visitors and our employees and care of our cemeteries. Our staff regularly monitor gravesites to uphold these standards. Thank you for helping us preserve the tranquility of Mount Pleasant Group cemeteries.

Note: From time to time, we will update our by-laws as a matter of best practices to ensure the safe and orderly operation of our cemeteries. By-law changes will be communicated per legal requirements.

Which By-Laws Affect Me?

All of our by-laws affect our visitors. If you are visiting our cemeteries or have a loved one laid to rest here, you should be familiar with our by-laws. They ensure the highest standards of health and safety, maintenance, client service and environmental sustainability. Here are some of the common ones that you should know about.
