Pet Sections
A Final Resting Place for You and Your Beloved Companion
At Mount Pleasant Group, we understand that pets are family. That’s why we offer dedicated Pet and Family Sections – the first of their kind in Ontario – where you can choose to be laid to rest with or near your cherished pet.
Burial Options for Pets and People
Located at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton and Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa, these specially designated areas allow for:
- Pet cremated remains to be buried, entombed in a niche or scattered
- Human interment by casket, cremation burial, niche or scattering
- Shared or adjacent resting places for pets and their owners
All interments are in accordance with Ontario legislation, with pet sections landscaped to provide a natural separation from human-only areas.
What Pets Are Eligible?
As defined in our cemetery by-laws, eligible pets include domesticated animals commonly kept for companionship or support. Exotic, farm or wild animals are not permitted.
Please note: We do not offer pet cremation services. Most families arrange this through their veterinarian or a private pet crematorium.
Interment Options Include:
- Adult single graves
- 1-grave lots (upright monuments permitted)
- Cremation graves and lots
- Single and double niches
- Designated scattering areas
Each option includes memorialization choices such as markers, monuments and inscriptions to honour both pets and people.
