"Raíces — A Guitar Journey from Bach to the Americas”

Join guitarist Karla García Silva for an intimate morning concert that bridges centuries and continents through the timeless voice of the classical guitar. "Raíces — A Guitar Journey from Bach to the Americas” is a journey through the music that has shaped Karla's life: from the precision of Baroque masters to the soul of Latin America. The program brings together an extraordinary range of voices. Johann Sebastian Bach and William Croft open the concert with the elegance and architecture of the Baroque era, while Agustín Barrios Mangoré — the legendary Paraguayan poet of the guitar — carries us into the lush romanticism of Latin America. From there, the program blossoms into the warmth of Brazilian Bossa Nova with Luiz Bonfá, the rich fusion textures of Chilean masters Antonio Restucci and Juan Antonio Sánchez, and the unforgettable songs of Víctor Jara, whose music remains one of Chile's most enduring gifts to the world.

Born in Chiloé, Chile and now rooted in Toronto, Karla García Silva brings a rare combination of classical rigour and Latin American heart to every performance. Whether you're a longtime lover of the guitar or simply looking for a beautiful start to a Saturday morning, Raíces promises to move you.
