Safety reminder at our cemeteries: Our cemeteries collectively offer valued green spaces and a vast tree canopy, serving as an important ‘carbon sink’ in urban environments. They also include one of the largest arboretums in Canada. We are so fortunate to have all this beauty in our midst, but that kind of beauty takes expert care to maintain. Our dedicated arborist team has noticed an increase in people approaching them while they’re actively working with chainsaws and wood-chippers. Approaching workers during active tree work can be startling and potentially dangerous. While we understand tree work can be fascinating to watch, please respect all safety barriers and signage while visiting our cemeteries. These setups are in place to protect both the public and our staff. If you have questions or concerns, please direct them to the cemetery office.

To support all guests, Pine Hills also offers ListenWifi, an assistive audio streaming system that allows visitors to hear services clearly using their smartphones or venue-provided receivers.

Funeral Centre

Pine Hills Funeral Centre provides a calm, welcoming environment where families can come together to honour and remember their loved ones. Designed for comfort and convenience, our facility brings all essential services – visitation, funeral, interment and reception – into one beautifully integrated location.
Features include:
- A spacious 200-person gathering hall with natural wood and stone finishes, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a private patio
- Three visitation and reception rooms for up to 80 people with direct access to outdoor spaces
- Conveniently located all on one level
- A product selection room to support meaningful memorial planning
- A modern audio/visual system for tribute videos and presentations
- ListenWifi audio streaming system for assistive or personal listening
Cemetery
At Pine Hills Cemetery, we offer a range of dignified and flexible burial options to suit your family’s needs and traditions. Whether you’re planning ahead or making arrangements for a loved one, our burial choices provide meaningful ways to honour and remember.
Ground Burial:
- Single graves with flat markers, allowing for up to two caskets and four cremated remains (unless otherwise specified in the interment rights agreement)
- Single graves with upright monuments, also accommodating up to two caskets and four cremated remains
- Graves adjacent to memorial walls, where inscriptions can be placed to commemorate loved ones
- Graves beside a Memorial Rail, where a bronze marker can be attached
- Larger lots of two or more graves, offering space for upright monuments and family memorials

Cremation Interment

Our peaceful, natural setting in Scarborough offers both traditional and creative choices for the final resting place of cremated remains. Cremation interment options include:
- Bronze-fronted columbarium niches set within beautifully landscaped areas for quiet reflection
- Curb urn spaces and arbor niches, offering elegant and accessible placement options
- Urn burial spaces located throughout several featured memorial gardens
- Cremated remains scattering in designated areas, including along the nature walk and within the herb and wildflower garden, where Canadian artist Gordon Becker’s Douglas-fir “totems” hold small memorial plaques
- Cremation ossuary placement, providing a shared, dignified resting place for cremated remains

Veterans' Section
Pine Hills Cemetery is proud to be home to the largest veterans’ section in Canada dedicated to Canadian and Allied veterans and their spouses. This beautifully maintained area offers a dignified and peaceful resting place for those who served their country. In recognition of their service and sacrifice, interment rights in the veterans’ section are offered at a reduced cost. Surrounded by natural beauty and thoughtful memorials, this section stands as a lasting tribute to the courage and commitment of our veterans.
Mausoleum
Located just inside the Kennedy Road gates, the Mausoleum of the Risen Christ offers a peaceful and dignified setting for above-ground interment. This elegant, one-storey facility blends modern architecture with artisanal craftsmanship to create a peaceful environment for remembrance and reflection. Serving families in Scarborough and the eastern GTA, the mausoleum features a range of crypt options including single, companion and tandem crypts, allowing families to choose the arrangement that best suits their needs. Designed with both beauty and functionality in mind, it provides a timeless space for lasting tribute and quiet contemplation.
