Plot S, Lot 201 Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto
Born on the island of Crete, the former Argero Terezakis immigrated to Canada when still a young woman and lived with her brothers in Toronto. In 1928, she married Emmanuel Stratakis and ten years later, while the couple were living at 276A George Street in the Dundas-Jarvis Street neighbourhood, a daughter was born. Today, we know their daughter better as former Metropolitan Opera Star, and internationally acclaimed soprano, Teresa Stratas. Argero died on September 10, 1963 at the age of 53. Teresa's father was 83-years-old when he passed away on June 15, 1987.
