Congratulations to author Janet Davis on the launch of Trees & Shrubs of Mount Pleasant Cemetery, a beautifully illustrated new book published by Firefly Books.
A freelance garden writer and photographer, Janet brings with her a 38-year career that includes roles as a weekly gardening columnist for two Toronto newspapers, editor of an online garden magazine, and contributor to numerous books and publications, including Trellis and the Toronto Botanical Garden’s website.
The book is the result of nearly three decades of visits to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, where Janet carefully observed and photographed the arboretum through all four seasons. Trees & Shrubs of Mount Pleasant Cemetery offers readers an opportunity to slow down, notice and learn more about the remarkable trees and shrubs that shape this historic landscape. The launch is especially fitting in a milestone year, as Mount Pleasant Cemetery marks 150 years and Mount Pleasant Group marks 200.
